Happiness Is It Just A Thing - 757 Words

Happiness seems familiar with many of people. It is not measurable, touchable, profitable, nor tradable. Yet, by describing through those word above, happiness is what human seek. Definitely, every people want to be happy and no one wants to be sad. They do not only want to have happiness, but also they want to have a lot of it. However, happiness, like an untouchable thing, is an impossible thing to grasp in one’s hand. It is intangible. So how does one know if they have it? Is it just a feeling? And if someone does not feel happy, how can they go about achieving that feeling? First of all, happiness cannot be measured by how much wealth a person possesses. However, people who surely have a sense of purpose in their road often have a feeling of satisfaction about what they have done, because they know their sense were put on this planet for a reason. On the other hand, this purpose can be different for every single person. Maybe, some were meant to teach, meant to mother, and meant to learn. Perhaps, the goals of life can be small things, such as taking an extra moment each day to breathe. In short, having progress in life, a feeling of forward motion, or catching a target allows a sense of purpose that can make people experience real happiness. By contrast, taking that forward motion too far can be seriously effect your life. Success at the expense of everything else, for example, leads to the opposite of happiness. Life requires balance. And people that understand that there is a balance to work and play, strive and joy are more in tune with the universe. Therefore, an able achievement will be easier to achieve happiness. Personally, I have my own experience about this. When I was 18 years old, I was a boy who have an uncertain mind because of too many dream, too many choices, and too many influences from many different directions. I lost my way because I set my goals too far away with where I was at that time. The goals was that I have to catch the first prize of the university competition.
